  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS.

How do I use MSSQL?

First time user of plesk...evaluating for a client. I installed the trial with a complete install. I chose for Plesk data to be stored in MSSQL. I can see the MSSQL database running in the OS, but I cannot see it inside Plesk. The client stores their web data is MSDE, so I'd like to evaluate this functionality. I've gone into Server...Database servers...Add Database Server, but MSSQL is not a choice, only MySQL. Is this what the MSSQL addon provides, or is this available in the demo?

What type of license do you have? Your license may not include MS SQL support, we had this problem to start with and ended up having to buy the $99 upgrade for MS SQL.

Thanks for the reply. That is exactly the problem. The trial download is just of Plesk with no addons. I called SWSoft sales and they generated a 14-day full-blown license for me with all the addons, so I can now test exactly what I need.
