  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

How to enable Merak Mailserver on a dedicated server?

Dear Plesk Support and Plesk Users,

Im using Plesk 9.2 on physical Windows 2008 x64 Server.
On another physical Windows 2008 X64 Server i'm using Merak Mailserver 9.4.2. They are both in the same public subnet.

All the time i only read that it is possible to enable Merak Mailserver within Plesk as long as Merak Mailserver is installed on the same machine as Plesk is.

But this solution is for me (and i think for some other, too) not usable.

Due to security, performance and load reasons i run Plesk and Merak on two different dedicated physical servers.

Now i'm really wondering about how to integrate the dedicated Merak Mailserver in Plesk?

Where can i setup in Plesk the IP-Adress and Ports for the dedicated Merak Mailserver?

Thanks for your statement.

Best regards,

Thorsten
