  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Incoming email bounces

I have numerous users that constantly complain that someone sent them email and they never get it. I check my maillog and I see absolutely nothing in it from the email address it should be coming from. I have added email address's to my SPAM FILTER white list and they still do not come through. I have turned off SPF protection, and they still do not come through. I also have users who can't get email from users like *@sbcglobal.net, *@yahoo.com, *@hotmail.com, yet, I can. What the HECK?

Any help in this would be greatly appreciate as I am losing customers on a daily basis.

Same problem here... I can't find any logical structure behind it. Some mail-accounts are working fine - some not!

Thx for your help

There was nothing in my log files about any mail coming from these users that could not get mail to us. I got hold of some of the people who were trying to get mail to us, had them email to my yahoo account so I could view their headers. Found out their email was rejected becase they were on one or more of the Black Lists we were checking. I was going to just fix those specific IP's until I realized how many it was. There was NO WAY I was going to be able to check all the IP's that people were complaining about not getting email from. So, I stopped checking against the Black Lists, And, all the people complaining about not getting email started to get it. AND, I could then of couse see them in the log files. Of course the down side to that is all SPAM that gets through.

There needs to be a change so that rejection due to Black List checking shows up in the log files.

inunisonltd, would you mind telling which blacklists you are using, or what blacklist is blocking those messages? Some blacklists can be pretty aggressive, sorbs for example.

I was checking against: sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org;dnsbl.njabl.org;bl.spamcop.net;recent.spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net
And WOW can Sorbs be aggresive. They had our server listed once and they actually wanted $$$ to get it removed. It took 2 weeks to get our IP off their list.

I still have not turned the Black Lists on. I just can't afford to lose anymore customers because the mail they are trying to get is coming from someone who may be black listed.

Those blacklists look pretty standard for me.

The problem about Plesk's blacklist checks in my opinion is the lack of logging, and the inability to allow authenticated users to send mail if their IP or range is blocked.

If I were you, I'd really look for another option, like spamdyke. It is extremely easy to install, requires no re-compilation of qmail, and works with Plesk. And since it work at smtp level, it takes a huge load off your spamassassin.
