  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

IP Address ftp denied router port issue?

Hello,

I have a server IP address and manage it with Plesk.

If I have a domain name set up with ftp access, I can access ftp no problem. However, if I have a domain set up but with out the DNS pointing to my server, I can not access FTP through the IP address.

Is there a way to gain access to the vhosts root rather than the domain root?

So, connecting to ftp://111.11.111.111 does not work (error 425) immediate fail, but ftp connection via www.domain.com does work once my DNS is pointing to the correct place.

If I am on remote desktop, I can access via ftp, so is it a local router setting I need to change? BTW, my server is in Hong Kong, I am trying to access via China (arrgh).

Thanks!@
