Question Mailing Lists Feature for AlmaLinux 10

DotNM

New Pleskian
I came across documentation somewhere saying that the mailing lists feature is not available in Plesk for AlmaLinux 10 because there was no compatible version of the mailman package. I checked my installation and found that mailman3 is able to be installed. I've installed it on my server successfully, so I was wondering if it would be possible to have the mailing lists feature added to AlmaLinux 10 installations considering that mailman3 is available for this Linux distribution.

Hi, @DotNM . Could you please confirm which repository you used for the installation of mailman? As far as I am aware, the package is not available in official repositories, which is why it's not supported in Plesk.

Hi there. I'm not sure which repository, would you be able to tell me how I can find that out? All I did was run the command yum install mailman3 and it installed.

I just tested in AlmaLinux 10 and I'm curious how you got it working too since I get nothing when trying to install it even after installing/enabling epel:

Bash:
[user@tester ~]$ sudo dnf install mailman3
AlmaLinux 10 - CRB 1.5 MB/s | 470 kB 00:00
No match for argument: mailman3
Error: Unable to find a match: mailman3
[msimon@tester ~]$

This is what I did on my server:

[root@vinweb1 ~]# yum install mailman3

Package mailman3-3.3.8-3.el9.noarch is already installed.
Dependencies resolved.
Nothing to do.
Complete!

These are the repos I have when I run yum repolist. I did not manually add any repos, they were already added by the image from my hosting provider (OVHcloud) or Plesk.

I just noticed that it looks like I have AlmaLinux 9, not 10. Apologies for the confusion however I'd still love to see mailing list management in the AlmaLinux 9 installation of Plesk.

@DotNM Thank you for the clarification. When Plesk initially introduced support for AlmaLinux 9, mailman was not officially supported by the OS vendor. However, EPEL9 provides the necessary packages now. We do have a registered task (PPP-67965), however, I cannot provide any ETA at this point.
