  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

MSSQL Server 2005 Express issue

Hi,

First of all, hi to the Plesk community (first post here...)

I installed MS SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. During the process, it updated the version that was previously installed with the Plesk installation.

I activated the TCP protocol as mentionned in the KB:
Link

In Plesk (logged in as admin), i can see the MSSQL Service running but i can't register the new server since i can only choose "MySQL" in the dropdown menu "Server Type" (Server > Database Servers).

In the SQL Server properties (SQL Server Configuration Manager) the log on method is set to "Local service".

Is that ok?

Any help would be appreciated as i dont really know how Plesk communicate with the MSSQL Service.

Thank you!

Jonathan

Edit : I have Plesk 8.2 / Windows 2003 Web Server edition

Hi,

If you want to use MSSQL server you need to purchase additional license for Plesk.
At the license management page you can check if you have ability to use MSSQL server. I think, your license does not allow using it.
