Resolved MySQL 5.1 to 5.6 Update on Windows

johnny a

New Pleskian
I've read the https://kb.plesk.com/en/124139 article about manually updating from 5.1 to 5.6. But in the plesk admin section under "Add and Remove Components", there is a section for MySQL. Currently the radio button for 5.1 is selected. If I switch that to 5.6 and click continue, will that update the MySQL server automatically and keep all of my existing databases, db users, and data intact?

I forgot to mention, I'm on Plesk Version 12.5.30 on Windows Server 2012 R2.

Yes, this should be so.

Just wanted to give an update. This worked for me. Just to be on the safe side, I did a mysql dump and backed up the directories first as described in the KB article above.
