• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

MySQL RPMs on RedHat Enterprise 3.0 ES?

Are there any problems that anyone is aware of that would prevent the RPM's provided by MySQL (details below) for RedHat Enterprise 3.0 to be installed and run correctly?

RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 (x86) - Server 4.1.14-0
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 (x86) - Client 4.1.14-0
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 (x86) - Headers and libraries 4.1.14-0
RedHat Enterprise Linux 3 (x86) - Shared libraries 4.1.14-0

I remember this used to be a huge no-no, but then again, MySQL never released RPM's specifically for RHEL3.

If there's no problems, can I just download the new RPM's from MySQL and "rpm -Uvh *" or do I have to remove RedHat's RPM's first and then install the MySQL ones?

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,
Matt Simpson

You can install these RPMS over the top of the other ones. Usually, especially with RPM it's a bad idea un uninstall and then reinstall another version. :)
