• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Need help to correctly import a large mssql database backup, Plesk 12.5

FlameX

New Pleskian
I have a 2.7gb mssql database backup file created using the old Database Backup Repository feature from Plesk 12.0.18.
I need to import this database backup into a new server running Plesk 12.5.
This new version of Plesk no longer has Database Backup Repository feature, instead there is something new called Import Dump which only accepts zip file. So I zipped my database backup file then used Import Dump feature.
The backup file uploaded to the server fine, and there is a little pane at the bottom right corn of window saying Importing a dump of backup_file is in progress.
It has been running for over 12 hours and still in progress.............

My questions are:
Am I right to zip the backup then upload using Import Dump?
Is that normal to take this long?

Any comment is appreciated, thx!

Hello,

> Am I right to zip the backup then upload using Import Dump?

You may zip it or use SQL format as well.

> Is that normal to take this long?

I suppose that it is too long. To investigate this behavior, we need to check it directly on the server.
