  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Need to migrate from old server v2 to new server v3

Cnote

Basic Pleskian
I just got a new server with plesk 8 and have installed fresh SB v3.

I need to do two things.

1. Transfer licence from version 2 to version 3.

and

2. Transfer existing sites that have been created in version 2 to the new sitebuilder 3.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to accomplish this?

Many thanks.

For Sitebuilder migration from version 2 to version 3 I can suggest you to read following thread:

http://forum.swsoft.com/showthread.php?threadid=40704&highlight=migration.php

There you should find the answer to your question.

As for the license key it should be upgraded and installed on Sitebuilder v.3. Here http://register.swsoft.com/sitebuilder_key_upgrade/ you can check if this license can be upgraded and upgrade it online. If you have any problems with it you better contact with your sales representative.
Default location for Sitebuilder v.2 license key is: /usr/local/sitebuilder/.keys/.sb.key.

Thanks, a couple more questions.

1. Can the migration part be done prior to the licence change?

2. must the migrated accounts have a hosting account on the same server as sitebuilder is installed on?

Thanks again for your help.

1. Yes, it can be done. I can actually suggest do not upgrade license until migration is done to make sure that version 3 is installed and working correctly.

2. No, it is not required. You can host accounts on different server.
