  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Resolved Official plesk migration guide from apache to nginx

Pedro Lopes

New Pleskian
Hello all,

Our goal is to start taking advantage of the incredible speed improvements on http2 via SSL.

Ubuntu 16.04 has no official support for apache mod_http2 due to it's experimental state. We host 2 distinct websites with latest version of Joomla having 2 versions of PHP: 5.6 to 7 with apache. Both websites have let's encrypt SSL certificates provided by plesk integration.

We already setup http2 on plesk according to this guide HTTP/2 Support in Plesk

We read that plesk runs a custom version of nginx we want to configure the joomla installation to always use your nginx even in new websites and uninstall apache. Is there a guide for this?

Thank you very much in advance!

You can just turn off Proxy mode in nginx settings to stop using Apache - Apache and Nginx Settings
But note about known limitations and note, that Apache will not be completely disabled, stopped, etc. Webmail will work on Apache anyway, for example.
Unfortunately, there is still some kind of limitations which doesn't allow to disable and remove Apache completely.
