  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Password Protected Directory with IP Exception

bradz

Regular Pleskian
On Plesk 11.5 / Centos 6.5 / Linux

I normally protect a given directory in the Plesk Contral Panel with a Username / Password.
I would like to bypass the username and password for visitors from one IP.
Is this possible? How can I do this?
Thanks,
Brad

bradz,

- you can limit authenticated (user/pass) access to a site's directory: "Website -> Password Protected Directories"
- you can deny access to the site using IP restriction: "Website -> Webserver settings -> Deny access to the site"

these features are independent, so you cannot add IP exception for a protected directory

Would htaccess do it?

Thanks Alexey,

Could I do it with an htaccess file in the directory I wish to protect via password but would like an IP exception?
If yes, does anyone have example code? Brad
