• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 11.5 --> 12.018 transfer / migration question

AnkeWZL

New Pleskian
Hello, question about transferring to a new server. This is my first attempt at switching a plesk server to a new machine.

current server runs: Suse 12.3 and Plesk 11.5
new server will run: Suse 13.1 and Plesk 12.018

Is it ok using the MIGRATION MANAGER tool to transfer all data/domains directly?

or would it be better to first update the old server to Suse 13.1 and plesk 12.018, and then tranfer the data to the new machine (having same target OS / plesk)?

Once the data transfer is complete, I would then point DNS entries to the new IP address. I am not running my own DNS server thru Plesk, I make the changes to DNS on an external server.
