• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 11.5 smtp_auth: FAILED

sebas

Basic Pleskian
Hi,

Today we have the problem that smtp_auth is not working.

The same users that yesterday were able to send mail, are not able to send today. They can receive, but the cannot send.

The message in the log file is similar to this:

Jul 3 09:55:50 canada7 smtp_auth: SMTP connect from dsl-xxxxx.com.mx [xxxxx.73]
Jul 3 09:55:50 canada7 smtp_auth: FAILED: vxxx@xxxxxx.com - password incorrect from dsl-xxxxx.com.mx [xxxxx.73]

It is like if send password and receive password were out of sync.

It is possible to send mail through webmail.

Qmail has already been restarted from services in the tools and setting but is still failing.

Thanks for your help,

In the end, webmails use same mechanisms to send email. Therefore problem is in the way users send mail. What do they do exactly?

Also, there is no such thing as send password and receive password. They are one and the same.

Great. I had the same problem than you after the 11.5.30 update. i solved it with this tool too.
