• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 12.0.18 Micro Update #71 deletes copies from windows backup server

Ionut Biru

New Pleskian
Hello,

Initially I have posted this into the thread http://talk.plesk.com/threads/plesk-12-0-18-micro-update-71-error.335961/ but my message got deleted.

Two of our servers got update to this minor upgrade and now we cannot see the copies from Windows Backup server, returning the same error The system cannot find the file specified while clicking on the event that was finished succesfully and then on view backed files.

12 hours ago I did look at this backups and worked fine then this update occured 5 hours ago and now from 55 copies that were last night, I have only 38. From activity windows, I can only see backed files only for the last 5 days.

Also on a second server that got the update before this one, I now have only 5 copies available.

Please investigate this problem as well. Is not nice to lose backups.

Hi Christy. Whereabouts do you run the command? The guide says in console but I can't find that within the Plesk platform. Thanks.

Hi Igor. Thanks for you advice. Would this process actually work for us though? This is remotely hosted and so we only access the Plesk panel remotely on local PC's. Would the hosting company therefore need to be the ones to do this?

If it is remote server you need to have RDP access for running any commands in Windows console. Contact your Service Provider if you haven't RDP access.
