• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 12, FTP does not work

SalvadorS

Regular Pleskian
Hello,

I set a new Plesk 12 server (Debian 7.8) and migrate some domains from a plesk 11.0.9 server.

After this, FTP does not work. I can connect but I receive this error:

Error: The data connection could not be established: ETIMEDOUT - Connection attempt timed out

And no list of folder or files found. Not one domain, any domain.

I restart xinetd and fil2ban but still same problem.

Via control panel I can see the files but not via FTP. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Dear Abdi,

Thanks but the article does not help.

No high load on the server, no firewalls and the problem is both with FTP over TLS or plain (insecure) text. I can connect but not folder or files listed...

Hello,

I solve it myself, let me tell you what was the problem. I installed plesk firewall and uninstalled it. This changed iptables rules and block passive mode for ftp. (I think because I found that active mode worked)

I restore iptables rules from another server and worked. The rules were very different...

So it is a Plesk error when uninstall (or install) the firewall as I install and uninstall it...

Regards
