  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk 8.6 forWin migration incl. MySQL=>MS-SQL-2000

Dear All,

I have decided to phase out my old HP Prolinat Server and go for a nifty VM-Ware VPS solution with redundant SAN. I have installed Plesk 8.6, SQL-2000, SmarterMail Enterprise and Gene6FTP. The new VPS works like a charme on Plesk 8.6 with DotNetNuke Portals.

To store the Plesk user data, for the new VPS, I have chosen to use my MS-SQL 2000/SP3 database (rather than the MySQL database that comes with Plesk) . The old server, is running on Plesk 8.6 with MySQL 4.1.

On the new server I use different directories for SQL and Smartermail than on the old server.

Is there an easy way how to migrate the old server content to the new server? Any tips/warnings for me?

Is it not quite clear what you want to rmigrate. If you would like to migrate Plesk data like domains/databases/email account to other Pelsk server, please use migration manager. Just download Plesk migration manager and install it on destination server and install migration agent on source server. Please use this link to download these utilities:

and use this link to download documentation:
