  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk CAN'T show postgresql databases ?!?

boosterfan

Basic Pleskian
Hey guys,

we just use the software kivitendo. This software can create databases.

We have the plesk web app license, but plesk does NOT show the postgresql databases created by our software.

The free webmin can show the databases without any problems.

Why plesk can not show the databases ?????

Because database should be created through Plesk, but not through third-party software.

But the software automatically generates the databases while you are working with it.

I think it does not make sense, that plesk can not see the databases on the server? I think it is very unprofessional, if a management software can not see what is on a server ... Especially when there are free softwares like webmin that can do it without problems...

Well. Plesk has own database manager and can operate we databases which were created through Plesk interface for users, sites, etc.
If your third-party software creates databases, they are not in Plesk context. But you can manage them with Plesk components like phpmyadmin or phppgadmin in Plesk interface.

It does not work. If a postgresql database was created by other software plesk crashes when u want to have access to phppgadmin...

1.)
Error: Fehler beim Laden all_db.php?action=tree&subject=server&server=%3A5432&3Aalow (200: OK)

2.)
The postgreesql databases (not created in plesk) are not saved by plesk backup :((

Ok, we've just had to cancel our plesk licences on all our servers. Now working with webmin and not havin any problems anymore. Wasnt a good experience. Its not good, when plesk can not see if there is anyone doing anything on the server.. And plesk didnt backup most of important data and even didnt backup the postgresql databases... So it was useless for us..
