Hello,
There are several issues and questions about the subject.
1) I would like to know if I will uninstall MySQL application (which works on port 3306) through the uninstall wizard of Plesk Control Panel then it will not also remove the other applications which depends on it ?
2) last month I reported about issue with Gene6FTP server application and Plesk integration with it.
I will write again what it the problem:
when Plesk Control panel is creating an account then it configure this new account in gene6 ftp in such way that gene6 ftp is accounting for storage usage against all folders (which means also statistics folder).
In such way , the result is that for example , Let us suppose that we have user account inside gene6ftp which so called 'igoldman'.
igoldman is the owner of the domain account : example.com
Let us suppose that in this server it's configured not to calculate statistics has storage usage.
but because 'igoldman' ftp user account inside Gene6FTP is configured to calculate storage usage against all folders , then despite the fact that the server administrator setup to not calculate statistics as storage usage , Gene6FTP does calculate it.
by the way , this behavior doesn't happened when Plesk Control Panel works with Serv-U FTP server application.
3)MS DNS application.
In Plesk Control Panel version 7.6.1 there is possibility to disable DNS recursion through Plesk Control panel.
This is good feature and very valuable.
But of course it's doesn't work properly.
Somehow , after some period the DNS recursion inside MS DNS application become ENABLE , the checkbox for disable recursion (also disables forwarders) becomes unchecked.
As it seems to me , there is a bug inside Plesk , becuase only Plesk has the ability to interact with MS DNS.
4)feature which provide for the PSA to create black list for unallowed mysql usernames. this feature will make a list of usernames that Plesk prevent from domain users to create mysql username which exists in the black list.
The same idea is for MS SQL.
5)In MS 2003 Server OS it's not allowed to create username that has the same name like the computer name (which configured in the OS level).
but of course , Plesk will try to create username with the same name like the computer name.
it's very easy to implement a fix for it , just implement what I wrote in section 4.
That's all for today.
Hope that someone in SWSOFT will really handle those issues and will take it gravely.
