• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Migration Manager IP Address Mapping Question

eugenevdm

Regular Pleskian
I'm about to migrate 450 domains and 250 clients from Plesk 7.5.4 to Plesk 8.

What bothers me is during the Plesk Migration Manager setup screen it asks to what new IP address I want to map my 450 domains' web sites to.

My new server has a new IP. Once the migration is done I want to revert to the old IP of my old server. Is this going to be possible or will I have to update 450 records by hand?

I don't want to change the DNS if possible.

Once you migrate to the new server, use the reconfigurator utility. From the command line:

# /usr/local/psa/bin/reconfigurator.pl map_file

This will create a text file named map_file. Edit this file with your old IP and run the command again. It will make the changes you need. Better instructions are in the map_file file.
