  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Plesk Resetting Custom Folder Permissions for ASP.NET Websites

Mr Fett

Basic Pleskian
Hi all,

I'd really appreciate any help with this!

I migrated to Plesk in December and now and then have noticed some of my websites go down. Logging in, I found the folder permissions needed had been reset. I've now seen this numerous times and can confirm that Plesk is doing it.

I need to be able to permanently set the following permissions to the httpdocs folder and stop Plesk resetting them:

IIS_IUSRS (Read/Write)
IUSR_customerName (Full Control)

Does anyone know how I can prevent Plesk from doing this? Having my website randomly start failing is really starting to get some of my customers angry and I don't really have a good reason for them.

I've searched and the only fix I can find is here: http://diendanmaychu.vn/archive/index.php/t-31611.html. Unfortunately this doesn't work for me as:

a) The IIS_IUSRS user group isn't listed in the users via File Manager and this needs access.
b) Plesk tells me I cannot change the permissions when trying to do so via File Manager

Thanks in advance for any help!
