  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Problem with adding IPv6 to Plesk 12.5

New Pleskian
Hey everyone,

I am currently running the trial version and I am almost completely satisfied :)

My Ubuntu Server 14.04 is a VM behind a NAT network in VirtualBox. Today I enabled IPv6, forwarding works and the machine has a IPv6, here is ifconfig output:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 08:00:27:04:c1:a3
inet addr:10.0.2.15 Bcast:10.0.2.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
inet6 addr: ****:****:****:*:***:****:****:****/64 Scope:Global
inet6 addr: ****::***:****:****:****/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:5716 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:5722 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000
RX bytes:628080 (628.0 KB) TX bytes:3352112 (3.3 MB)

However I can't add the IPv6 to Plesk. Rereading doesn't do anything, there is still only the IPv4. When I try to add it manually the error is

Fehler: ifmng failed: SIOCSIFADDR: File exists /sbin/ifconfig eth0 add ****:****:****:*:***:****:****:****/64 exited with non-zero status 1

Do I have to add a separate network adapter with IPv6 only? Or what is the problem?

Thanks,
Philipp
