  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
Since the upgrade to Plesk 12 we have a problem with some of our sites that have uploaded png images in the header area. They displayed fine until the 12 upgrade and the image appears fine in the editor but on the published site the transparent areas of the images are showing as black. A lot of our sites use images with transparency so this is quite an issue.
I have checked in the editor to make sure there is no other background or colour being applied to that area and can't see any set so not sure what is causing this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

I have uploaded an example of this to a test site at: www.langcliffe.n-yorks.sch.uk the header image has a transparent background and there is no other header or background colour set but the background appears black on the live site.

ACTUAL RESULT

Areas that are transparent in the header png are showing as black in the live site but are showing correct in the editor.

EXPECTED RESULT
Published site should show the same as what is in the editor

When trying to open the header image of your sample site in Photoshop it replied that the file could not be opened because the file format module could not interpret the file. So, could the cause be in the PNG file itself?

Got the same problem after upgrading to v12. After publishing png background turning black, but in constructor it looks normal.
Plus after upgrading to v12 there are huge problems with color schemes, some colors on site are differs from how it looks on v11, and its just not possible to change color scheme, because now it's only one item - "Personal scheme" in color scheme combobox. In addition on "Color" tab in constructor, combobox "page area" ("Область страницы" on russian) does not work.

Hi Dave

The png should be ok, and they worked fine before the upgrade, there seems to be a lot of changes with the colour scheme/settings in the new version so I don't think it's a coincidence this has come to light at the same time.
