  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Redirect problem without port or with ip

Koda

New Pleskian
I have two problems and hope you can help me. At this moment I can't find a post in Forum where help for this problem.

IP: 123.123.123.123
Hostname: server.domain.tld
Domain for Plesk: server.domain.tld:8443

first: What can I make, when I call http://server.domain.tld that plesk redirekt to http://www.domain.tld
EDIT: The First Problem was solved. I have insert a new domain server.domain.tld in Plesk as redirect. Now it works :) Only the second Problem is not resolved

second: When I call http://123.123.123.123 plesk redirect to http://www.domain.tld. Perfect. But when I call http://123.123.123.123:8443 or http://otherdomain.tld:8443, he redirect to http://server:8443. What can I make that he redirect correct to server.domain.tld:8443?
My host entrys on server:
/etc/hostname: serverXX
/etc/hosts
123.123.123.123 server.domain.tld server
IPV6ADDRESS server.domain.tld server

Just change the hostname of your server to "server.domain.tld". This can be as well done over your Plesk Control Panel:

=> Home > Tools & Settings > Server Settings > Full hostname

Hi Koda,

But this is insert in this field.
When "server.domain.tld" is already shown in the field "Full hostname", someone changed the file "/etc/hostname" manually, or any other package on your server did that.
Change it to something different over the Plesk Control Panel... and you will see, that Plesk with change the file "/etc/hostname". Afterwards, change it back to your FQDN and you will again notice, that the file will be changed by Plesk. ;)

I have changed to server01.domain.tld and than back to server.domain.tld. The same problem :( I have a extern DNS Server. Can this be a problem? RDNS is right
The rDNS (PTR) is server.domain.tld

Hi Koda,

I have changed to server01.domain.tld and than back to server.domain.tld. The same problem
But you could actually SEE the changes in your "/etc/hostname" - file. Correct?

I have a extern DNS Server. Can this be a problem?
It "could" be an issue, but we can't investigate that, because you like to stay anonymous with the FQDN.
But it could as well be a browser cache issue...

Pls. be aware, that the more decent facts you provide, the better will be possible answers and suggestions. :)

>>But you could actually SEE the changes in your "/etc/hostname" - file. Correct?
Yes. But when I change it and then tip the IP:8443, i come to server:8443 and not the new hostname.

>>But it could as well be a browser cache issue...
I don't think so. I have try withe privat browser and I have try with mobile network on diferent locations

EDIT: I have found this: Cannot access Plesk because server redirects to it's hostname It is correct. When I use https://ip:8443 is not redirect and send me to plesk :) Bow I must see what is the problem. On other Server I don't have this problem. I ask the provider too
