• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi,
Is there a way to disable dns functionality in plesk 10 for windows?
Some other dns may handle domains instead of bind on the plesk server.
Thanks.

I don't want want to use the dns on plesk. I have another dns server to handle requests. So that means dns definitions may be done manually by our support team. Is there a way to disable dns(and remove from management gui) in plesk?

It is impossible now. But you can leave your request with convincing substantiation in thread mentioned above.

Disable DNS on Plesk 10 for windows.

I see in the documenatation, page 88 of plesk-10-administrator-guide in the Configuring DNS Services section the following:

Switch off the domain name service on this machine if your provider or another organization is running DNS service for your sites.

Later on page 90:
 If you are using third-party DNS servers, and are not running your own DNS server, you should switch off your control panel’s DNS server:
1. Go to Settings > DNS Template Settings (in the General group).
2. Click Switch Off.

I can see the Switch Off image/link in the Zone Settings Template at the top under "Tools".
