• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Question Samba on Ubuntu 14.04 - Cannot connect on Windows

Kai Kremer

New Pleskian
Hello,

I have installed the Samba File Server Extension. The Fileserver is started and is running. When I try to connect to the shared folder on window I get "The network path was not found. "

I tried:
1) open Explorer: \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx\share or \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx
2) Add Networkadress: \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx\share or \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx
3) Connect with Network-Ressource: \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx\share or \\85.xxx.xxx.xxx

Windows network diagnose says that the file- and printsharing is online but does not response.

My Configuration on Plesk:

/*SHARE*/
Under Share, I have added the location that I want to share

/var/share
name: share
real path: /var/share

checked as "Writeable" and "No password is required to connect to the service"

/*Users*/
I added the user "admin" from system user root with password!

/*Interfaces*/
shows:
venet0 85.xxx.xxx.xxx/255.255.255.255

/*access*/
85.xxx.xxx.xxx
127.0.0.1

Firewall is off!
