  • Support for BIND DNS has been removed from Plesk for Windows due to security and maintenance risks.

Server stuck in a loop when rebooting

I've run into some rather strange issues. On a Win2003 machine w/ SP1 the server will not reboot. It starts gets so far and the trys to reboot. The problem shows up after installing Plesk 7.5.5. Three time we have had to image the drive to get the server back online.

At this point we cant even confirm that Plesk is at fault. We cant even get to logs for review.

Has anyone had a problem like this? I'd like to rule out the Plesk Control Panel and move on if no one esle has encountered this.

As a first step to try:
Try to reboot server through Plesk CP:
Plesk CP->Server->Reboot-> (Click Yes)

Can't you get console access via RDC or directly?

We get nothing, the server shuts down and reboots just after the Windows splash screen appears.

We have not been able to repair the install with the Windows repair funtion. As stated in the earlier post we have to re-image to get the server to boot.

This has now shown up on two different servers. Everthing is fine until we try to run Plesk on SP1 then the problems show up on the first re-boot.

1. What Windows version do you use? (Please include is it Standard. Enterprise,Web. Language Addition, 32x or 64x bit, SP1 integrated or not, any specific hardware (not included in HCL))
2. Create ticket in RT (in this situation you need to provide shell login to server (where Plesk is not still installed))
3. Attach disk from server to another server,workstation examine logs.
