  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Subdomain Root Password Protection

curdude

New Pleskian
Hello,

Is there a way to set subdomain root password protection? Or is this only applicable for directories?

Thanks

Could you please be more specific and describe the issue with more details and examples?

Hello,

Sure.

for example if you have subdomain.domain.com , I would like to password protect subdomain.domain.com so that if I go to http://subdomain.domain.com I will be prompted with username / password.

from the panel I went to domain.com, Create a new protected directory under the site subdomain.domain.com but there it ask for a Directory name * which leads me to believe you can password protect a directory within subdomain.domain.com/directory but not subdomain.domain.com .

Thoughts?

Thanks
