• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Suggestion : Send email only on failure

Basic Pleskian
Under scheduled task and notifications, etc.... i want notified about tasks, but ONLY if it fails. I don't want an email box full of thousands of emails for things that are working as they should. I want a feature into plesk that says "send email on failure only"

When i first set up plesk i turned on all of the notifications and over a weekend was not paying attention.. OMG the mass mailing that came in. flooded my own inbox with
"everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine" "everything is working fine"

I dont want to have to dig through hundreds or even thousands of emails to find the important ones... i simply only want to see the important ones and disable notifications of normal activity.

Thank you

What version of Windows Server are you running? If you're running Server 2008, then RDP into your server and manually configure the task to check for failed TaskScheduler events (you can find the instructions at http://superuser.com/questions/249103/make-windows-task-scheduler-alert-me-on-fail for creating the task). If you're using Windows Server 2012 or newer then it'll become a bit more complex since the send an email is no longer used, but still do able, will need to preform a PowerShell script, instead, to send out an email (you can learn how by looking at the advice at http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microsoft_Operating_Systems/Q_28223074.html to learn more).

Thanks.
We are running 2008.
That is an option.. but it would be nice to see it as part of plesk to make the product more complete.
Not too sarcasticly, but whats the point of buying a management tool if i still have to go into the server directly and tinker with it so much ? hehehe
