  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Templates with banner upload

eastcoast

Basic Pleskian
In the previous version of Sitebuilder I modified all the templates that I used. I am very interested in building or editing the templates so that my customers can use their own banners. In the demo, most of the templates don't allow banner uploading. (Banner upload is not supported for this template.) Is there documentation for building templates that do allow banner upload ?

template updates

I have been advised that an update is due to be released this June...

As it relates to there not being any shipping field in the e-shop cart...

SW Comment:

"We added an option to the new release to append a fixed shipping charge
to the order."

Templates:

"We plan the RTM for 4.0 version on mid-June. That release will finally get
the Design Templates SDK for SiteBuilder Linux; and we will release additional set of design templates better suited for header/logo replacement about that time (though I'm not so sure about timing of those).

The new templates we are working on right now are less "artsy" and "fancy".
I will also consider the "blank" templates you ask for to be added to that same package..."

From Roger:

Also, you really need to add some simplified delete functions for
images, banners, and logos. Right now the only way to do this is by
going into the Plesk CP > system > File Manager > httpdocs > etc. SB
should have a delete button for these. For instance, let's say I upload
a banner and then I don't like it. There is no simple way to get it
removed from the drop down. Same for logo unless I upload a new one. I
also find that uploading a banner takes numerous attempts...and this is
with templates that allow customization.

SW response:

You are right about controlling the site content. This is a negative
side-effect of the UI simplicity. We did our best to isolate user from the
underlying file structure detail; unfortunately this also means that there
are no built-in ways to remove/rename something. I will consider adding a
delete button to the header drop-down; though that does not seem to be
convenient enough. Maybe we will append another screen "Advanced Design
Customization" which will render more options for controlling the design,
without templates selection.

Roger:

Hopefully our friends at SW will delivery quickly on these revisions!
