• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Issue "The license key is invalid." after deleting backups

Robin Edwards

New Pleskian
A couple of days ago, I deleted some of our old backups from /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/{sitename}/. I deleted them physically on the server, just deleting the big files.

Today, when I tried logging into Plesk, I get this error (and am unable to do anything else):

Error: The license key is invalid. In order to use Panel, please obtain and install a new valid license key.
The amount of currently used resources overrides the limits defined by your license.
The number of websites hosted on the server exceeds the limits defined by your license. You have 9 sites hosted; your license allows hosting only 0 sites.
The number of served email accounts exceeds the limits defined by your license. You have 26 email accounts currently served; your license allows serving only 0 email accounts.
I've tried deleting registry.xml, and it seems to re-generate successfully (but the problem persists).

Does Plesk have any logging that could give me an idea of whether these two things are related, or is there anything else I could try?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Robin
