Topics have disappeared

Bill Priess

New Pleskian
Hi gang,

When my customers log into WPB now (on a any domain) and try to create a site, they get no topics at all. I took a look at the database and found that none of the tables have the topics in them. I'm not entirely sure why this would have happened.

Has anyone seen this or does anyone have a fix for it?

Thanks!

Hi Bill,

Can you tell me what action could've caused this issue? Have you upgraded WPB or did something else before this happened? What's your version of WPB and what platform are you using (I suppose Windows)?

Sorry custer! I've been out of town on business for awhile.

I'm running Plesk 11.0.9 on Windows Server 2008 R2. I had started off with the "UID ... was not found in the database" error (I don't have the exact wording in front of me at the moment). So, I followed the KB article to fix that. Then, after running into more issues, I rebuilt the database. Since then, when trying to create a new site, there are no topics found.

I did a bit of digging into the database and found that a number of tables are empty.

Any ideas? Can I rebuild the database from a script that has the topics (templates) in it?

Hi Bill,

First, can you tell me which KB article you've followed before running into this issue? We want to make sure that all our KB articles are as accurate as possible and if one of them can cause unforeseen consequences, we need to check it and fix it.

Second, it's not clear what exactly caused the problem, so the only thing I can suggest at the moment is to run the following command:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\bin\php.exe" -c "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\admin\php.ini" -d auto_prepend_file="" "C:\Program Files (x86)\Parallels\Plesk\sb\utils\update_site_templates.php"

If that doesn't help, I suggest you to file a support ticket. Hope this helps.
