Update files in apt-get but not in the Plesk updater

Hi everyone.

I wanted to see what updates were available to me through Debian, but I'm a little worried about updating.. Should I be updating through apt-get update/upgrade? Or just what Parallels Spoon feeds me through the Plesk Updater.

Interestingly though, there are quite a few psa-xx updates when I do apt-get update/upgrade but not when I use the updater on Plesk control panel. Is this because they are in testing or what?

Am I at risk by running a apt-get upgrade and having Plesk not work any more?

Thanks.

Bump..

Can anyone tell me if it is a good idea or not to download updates from debian each week? Will this put my plesk installation at risk of breaking?

apt-get or aptitude are the same as the plesk updater does (as i know)

we always do it the debian way and never had a problem so fare (beside the normal update bugs from parallels)

just be sure you have a correct sources.list
