• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Upgrade from 4.0 to 4.1

We currently have three Plesk nodes. Two of them are version 8.1.1 and one is version 8.1.0. SiteBuilder is version 4.0. We would like to upgrade all Plesk nodes to version 8.3 so that we can use the integrated version of SiteBuilder 4.1. The site backup feature in SiteBuilder 4.0 is currently broken as described in other threads on this forum (the script runs out of memory). Can we migrate all of our customer sites to the newer version of Plesk/SiteBuilder?

Current sbbackup/sbrestore solution was designed mainly to make backups and restores locally on one server but not for migration to different servers. If you need to migrate users and sites from one Sitebuilder to another one it is better firstly to upgrade Sitebuilders to latest 4.1 version where backup/restore utils were improved. After that you can try to create backups and restore them on different the same Sitebuilder version server.
As for Plesk and Sitebuilder upgrades it is better to accomplish it and use latest versions.
