• The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Hi, I have a Plesk 8.1.1 Server with Centos 4.4 and want to upgrade it to Centos 5 final release and Plesk 9.2.
My question is, what is the correct procedure to do it preserving all the clients' information?

If I upgrade Centos release will Plesk continue working? Should I upgrade Plesk to a predefined version before?
Hope you can help me.

Omar

Ideally, get a 2nd server and use the plesk migration manager to do it. That would be the safest method allowing you to minimize downtime, and ensure everything was working correctly in advance.

If thats not an option, then I would back it up with the plesk backup utils, and an additional rsync snapshot just in case. Then re-image the box with centos 5 and restore the data.
