  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.

Upgrading MySQL

I received a scanalert/hackersafe warning that we need to upgrade MySQL to the latest version. Is this straightforward to do? I notice that there seem to be two MySQL databases: Plesk\Databases\MySQL and \Plesk\MySQL. Do they both need updating? I've also noted in other threads a mention of a MySQL 5 update script, to 'fix permissions' Is this straightforward as well?

Hi,

You can upgrade MySql that is used for clients databases(located in Databases\MySQL) as described in this article:

http://kb.swsoft.com/en/1077

MySql instance located in Plesk\MySQL is used for Plesk database itself and it is not suggested to upgrade it to 5 version.

Anyway, it is not available for external connections.

Thanks for the response, is it possible to block the client MySQL for external connections, as none of the Clients are using it?

Hi,

You can just block connections to 3306 port with firewall.
