  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Upgrading Ubuntu (do-release-upgrade) under Plesk

Regular Pleskian
Hi there,

we're currently running plesk 11.5 on ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS.

Plesk 11.5 isn't supported on 14.04, however version 12 is. My question is, how safe would it be to upgrade plesk to 11.5 and then use do-release-upgrade to upgrade ubuntu to 14.04?

We have many websites and I don't like the migration options as they mean changing a lot of IP addresses, DNS servers and some more stuff. Mostly I just create a full backup and restore it on a new box with the same IP addresses. Nothing changes IP wise then which is much easier but this path hasn't exactly been problem free before either.

TIA

Thanks for the re IgorG.

Perhaps an idea to put this in the admin manual as well? Didn't look at the install one, it's been installed for years :).
