  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Use Another Server For DNS *Instead*

EricVP

New Pleskian
Here's the setup:
Domain Controller Server (Bluefire) hosts, well the domain forest, and also DNS for our server infrastructure.
Plesk Hosting Server (Blackbird) has a standard installation.

What'd I'd like to accomplish:
Rather than adding nameservers and additional IPs to the Plesk server, so it can host the DNS for the domains it manages, can I have it sync to the Domain Controller, running Windows DNS, and use that as the nameserver/dns host? Also to help with keeping DNS alive in case Plesk server goes down.

Any help is certainly appreciated!

Hey Eric,
We shift all of our DNS operations off the Plesk server and use domain registrars DNS (its generally free) as its one less thing to worry about. It sounds however like you're talking about internal DNS?
