  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Wordpress and SMTP (localhost)

New Pleskian
As of 12.x of Plesk the 127.0.0.1 smtp whitelist is removed and doesn't seems possible to add edither, I guess from a "anti spam perspective" of stolen accounts or hacked webcode.

It's of course fully possible to download for example the SMTP configuration wordpress plugin and manually add SMTP host/user/pass, but if enduser doesn't have local mail only DNS+WEB for example your not going to get anywhere with that.

What is the correct approach to allow mail being sent from wordpress/joomla etc with default settings php/wordpress/joomla etc settings?

Plesk for windows 12.5, SmarterMail email server
