Wordpress integration - auto update - backup?

I am not sure how it works? Assume client selects auto update and for some reason
after the update the site is not working as before. Is there a backup mechanism so
client / customer can easy restore the site as it was before the update?

I know it is possible to schedule backups from the Panel but it would be nice to
have it also before a W.P update (like Softaculous can do) .
