• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

    POP-Before SMTP "database is locked"

I wanted to add that I'm receiving this also... I cannot be certain if this was due to the 9.0.0.2 > 9.0.1 upgrade, but I have been noticing it in the past few days only. I also looked at the DB, removed and added lines -- there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the database. I'm...

    Spam? and Qmail Queue

I'm not too certain, although I would not suggest that functionality at all. According to ART, he's currently testing out a version of qmail-scanner (for project Gamera - not sure if it's for PLESK servers) that includes checking of valid recipient addresses before scanning. This would be...

    Spam? and Qmail Queue

Another Tip... Take a look at the IP addresses from e-mail senders sending you spam... Then run them through: http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch?ip=%2059.157.43.27 Then in /etc/xinetd.d/psa_smtp You can block IP ranges. Another user posted this tip a while back. After running...

    Spam? and Qmail Queue

Hooo.... boy.... I've had this problem too. Are you using ART's qmail-queue-scanner by chance? I was and maintain that it's wonderful, but there are certainly some things to tweak! Here are my tips -- #1) Applicable to 1and1 servers and poorly partitioned servers -- Is the...

SW-Soft You have done it again with this Plesk 8.0.1 update

No Problems No problems here, upgraded from the Updater with FC2 from v8.0 to v8.0.1... and sobbed a little bit at SW-Soft's abandonment of the RH9 platform with my other server... From the perspective of someone who is a huge advocate of 3rd party solutions -- especially when in regard to...

    PLESK v8.0 for RH9

Well that sucks =). I can understand the reason, however, I do not know of any easy way to upgrade my RH9 server to FC4... Frankly, the idea frightens me - and I'd love to have PLESK 8 on my main server. Has anyone here had experience (positive) upgrading RH9 to FC4?

/home partition filled up.. upgrade help

You may want to try using symlinks on a client by client basis also. If you have one client who uses 60GB, you could symlink /home/httpd/vhosts/thatsite.com onto the new hard drive... Symlinks work so beautifully... from the perspective of a home Windows user who loves running a...

/home partition filled up.. upgrade help

Is this a server that you have physical access to upgrade? I don't know what you specs are, but if you had a 40GB HD in your server and were adding a 200GB HD, I would quickly tell you to simply move /home/httpd/vhosts/ to the new drive and create a symlink to it. However if the situation...

    PLESK v8.0 for RH9

Where my upgrade at, yo? Has SW-Soft made any mention to supporting RH 7.3 or RH 9.0? My FC2 box is nicely upgraded. but my RH 9.0 box is out in the cold with a tear in its eye.

Did your upgrade to plesk 8 go successfully?

Word I've installed PLESK 8.0.0 on two 1and1.com FC2 boxes. My box installed perfectly. Yes - perfectly. After installing, I noticed that there were a few DNS configurations not working (webmail. and mail. were missing on a few sites that I had migrated previously). I don't know if this...

7.54 Hotfix & Plesk migration manager upgrade error

symlinks save the day! I wanted to jump in and talk a little bit about my experience with symlinks. 1and1.com's server partitioning is ridiculous and is not condusive to a busy server. Creating symlinks to get around the limitations is a ridiculously simple and beautiful way of fixing the...

    Plesk 8

Thanks DigitalCrowd ... I like the PLESK Desktop... I really wish they'd taken a queue from Google Start Page or Start.com and allowed the desktop to be drag & droppable. That would have been a logical thing to put in... This release is interesting... the domain aliasing option is simple...

DNS Report: FAIL: Open DNS servers

I'd suggest against doing this. It seemed that that would limit BIND to only provide DNS locally... I may be wrong, but I have no desire to experiment on a production server.

DNS Report: FAIL: Open DNS servers

I've heard the lame solution of using a different service for DNS -- however, that's just ridiculous as I have have two severs and PLESK -- I'm in a prime position to host my own DNS =)

GreyListing... I agree on this one ... although I feel that Greylisting is still one of those very obscure spam prevention methods... I for one love greylisting... but can't see PLESK adding it any time soon. It works, which is the amazing thing. I assume you use ART's Greylisting?

    Plesk 8

Hultenius: I'm not entirely sure that it's been 2 years since the release of PLESK v7.5 (originally labeled 'PLESK 8'). Perhaps 2 since v7.0. I'm happy with many of the additions - domain aliasing from within PLESK is something I've longed for (to the extent of writing my own bash script to...

Depending on how familiar you were with your installation of FC4, you may consider reinstalling with FC2 or FC3. I'm on RH9 on one of my servers and FC2 and I really cannot honestly tell you any of the benefits between the versions of RedHat other than the fact that I am confident that FC2...

DNS Report: FAIL: Open DNS servers

Unless something has changed with my configuration, DNS Report is now instituting an Open DNS server check and both of my PLESK servers are returning the following errors for all domains: -- ERROR: One or more of your nameservers reports that it is an open DNS server. This usually means...

Word Anyone daring enough to install this on a server can download at: http://www.swsoft.com/products/plesk8/beta/download/ The current key expires March 10th - which gives you until Friday to run an unlimitd PLESK 8 license =)

Aliasing... Well, I get to retire alias4psa.sh in that case =) Attached if anyone has interest in a domain aliasing script for PLESK that isn't the PowerToys thing (which I don't like or trust since it screwed up named a few times)
