• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

11.5.30 update and nginx - now no sites load

Basic Pleskian
I was hoping to reduce Apache CPU usage by installing the nginx component, which installed fine... however after installing "php-fpm support for nginx" I was unable to get back on to Plesk and sites would not load. Plesk login error showed :

ERROR: PleskFatalException: Unable to connect to database: mysql_connect(): No such file or directory (auth.php:142)

I carried out a yum update, and then a server reboot - and I can now get back into Plesk, but no sites are loading - all cannot connect.

I'm stuck... can anyone throw me some ideas?

Odd... looks like I have found it (2 hours of trying, then as soon as I post I spotted it!)

When restarting the nginx service via 'service nginx restart' I got :
Not starting nginx as it is disabled in config

Google'ing the error took me here : http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?260371-Nginx-Does-not-Start

I then tried : /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/nginxmng --enable and I'm back up and running.

Now to get back to reducing the Apache CPU load...
