  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

8.3 Upgrade

New Pleskian
Hi,

I'm running 8.1.0 on CentOS 4. I've put off upgrading to a newer version - and now I see its up to 8.3.

Can I go directly from 8.1 to 8.3? Or do I need to perform any intermediate upgrades?

Does anyone have any suggestions, things to watch out for, tips, etc. for the upgrade process?

TIA and a Happy New Year to all.

Here is some advice:

1. Wait a month to see where early movers struggle and maybe even for some bug fixes.
2. Do not use the autoinstaller from the Plesk GUI, use it from the command line.
3. Do a full backup of your server before upgrading. A mirror would be best. Be ready to roll-back if you run into a serious problem.

I've been burned before by moving too quickly. Never again.

That is some good advice. I would go even further and attempt on a dev server first where possible, recreating your conditions as exactly as possible.
