apache modules

Heppi75

Basic Pleskian
hi,

I am just looking to improve apache performance. so there are a lot of modules activated by default in plesk. I would think that the following modules could be disabled. could anyone have a look if plesk itself needs any of this modules or if it's worth disabling them for performance - does anyone have recommendations which modules are needed for a normal webserver?

disable:
proxy_balancer
proxy_ajp
proxy_express
proxy_fcgi
proxy_fdpass
proxy_ftp
proxy_scgi
proxy_wstunnel

needed - or also disable?:
vhost_alias
version
status
dumpio
cache_disk
ext_filter

mybe someone could give me some recommendations ...

Hi Heppi75,

to inform yourself about apache2 - modules, you might want to read: https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/en/mod/

Because we don't know the web-content of your domains on your server, we really can't give recommendations for your apache configuration. Tuning a webserver is unique and based on the web-content and the traffic and last but not least, depends as well on your server, the server configuration(s) and modifications, which are as well unique.
A very good source for tutorials and modifications is https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials , where you will find very good recommendations and easy to follow tutorials, as well as tuning tipps.
