• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

apache2-mpm-itk module installation

In order that the php scripts, invoked via the web pages, could create a file with user and group corresponding to the owner of the specific virtual host, we need to install the apache module called apache2-mpm-itk. We are interested in knowing the best way to install apache2-mpm-itk in a linux system with Plesk because nowadays this panel is the base of our hosting platform whereas our past experience of apache2-mpm-itk use concerns its installation in a classical apache server without plesk.
Could you give us any suggestion about the procedure to follow? Could it cause any problem of stability of the web server?

This module was not tested in Plesk. But I can say that additional Apache modules will not affect Plesk operation, because Plesk interface is handled by lighttpd and user's sites - by Apache. So, you can try to install this module and test it.

@RobertoM I'm thinking about using the same setup. Would be nice if you share your results.

Thanks in advance,
Josef

Increase Apache Vhost Security With mpm-itk In RHEL/CentOS 5

We've been working on some http ITK rpms in the plesk irc channel (irc.freenode.net). We could use more eyeballs on the project

Anything still happening here?

My main issue with plesk on linux is access rights. Even with the fastcgi option, it still sucks (for example, if user uploads through, for example joomla, an image with nice access rights (ie only it's own user, perhaps read for his group but nothing for world) still causes issues, as an image is fed directly through apache which has no read rights on it...).

People have been complaining about this for *MANY* years. Isn't it about time to pick this up? As far as I'm concerned you can ditch *all* the new features in plesk 10 to add this one. None of them are as important as this one IMHO.
