Application Vault and Requirements

Hello,

I am faced with some clients who wish to use various applications that require either previous versions of PHP or new versions of PHP. I am running 5.1.x. I want to find out how to install these applications without installing them manually for each customer by downloading the files and running the install scripts associated? How are others dealing with this?
