  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Still a problem on Plesk 10.4.4 Update #47

The problem with awstats.pl running for hours and creating very high server load is still a problem even on Still a problem on Plesk 10.4.4 Update #47

Has anyone found a solution to this?

Hi, awstats is generally quite heavy CPU consumer as written in Perl. This is by design and isn't a matter of bug of misconfiguration. I mean - it is normal for AWstats to cause high CPU load.

It wouldn't be much of impact for servers (VPSes) with fewer domains, but shared hosting servers may be impacted heavily. I would recommend switch all customers to "webalizer" tool at shared hosting servers.

While awstats produces prettier reports, webalizer consumes less resources. We will make it default setup for future versions - "webalizer" for shared hosting offers and "awstats" for personal use.
