I REALLY would like to see the possibility to choose between webalizer and awstats.

AWstats is just 100x times more detailed (and better looking too)

it isn't difficult to set up at all! you might as well go for it yourself. Once installed, you'll only have to edit a cron job to update the results and output them to a html file. It really is easy.

Of course, getting it setup for you is always a better option

Any good recomendations for a good Awstats install?

I've found a Fedora 2 rpm for awstats, but no luck on the install.

Currently the page is not displaying, but I'm sure it will come back soon. It gives an excellent foundation to install Awstats with Fedora. You'll have to modify the Apache directives and example scripts to match your directory structures.

The rpm installed with no issues, except for the fact it will not install under Plesk's default vhost root, but the article above mentions this and gives apache directives to work around this ---

(CORRECTION) the httpd.conf DOES NOT have to be done manually, the rpm installs awstats.conf in /etc/httpd/conf.d

I used awstats-6.1-0.fdr.6.noarch.rpm,
from http://download.fedora.us/fedora/redhat/8.0/i386/RPMS.stable/

If you find a better rpm, please let me know.

I've only installed the rpm. I have not had time yet to attempt any configurations.

I'll let you know how it works out, when I get to it. If anyone else tries it, please let us know.

I was successful in installing Awstats 6.1 for one of my domains.

The http://www.dotvoid.com/view.php?id=29 document is back and the intructions are very easy and simple.

I didn't use the scripts recommended, because i wanted to make sure it worked on at least one domain first.

You must call awstats.pl directly:
http://yourdomain/awstats/ does not work, but
http://yourdomain/awstats/awstats.pl does the trick.

I liked some of the defaults of the plesk functionality better than the ones provided by the referenced explanation above found at:

If you can follow through the script I adopted, you can make the required changes to the /etc/awstats/awstats.model.conf file. Also, note, I simply downloaded the default package from awstats rather than using the fedora rpm, so you can get it working, for example, from the following package:
http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/awstats/awstats-6.3-1.noarch.rpm

The script will be attached as a .txt file as it appears that I'm not allowed to paste it in here for some reason.
