• Our team is looking to connect with folks who use email services provided by Plesk, or a premium service. If you'd like to be part of the discovery process and share your experiences, we invite you to complete this short screening survey. If your responses match the persona we are looking for, you'll receive a link to schedule a call at your convenience. We look forward to hearing from you!
  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Backup/Archive all email coming into server

I have a hosting customer that wants all email copied for backup that comes into any email account setup. Does anyone have any experience doing this? I'm guessing there's going to need to be some patch for qmail to allow it. Or maybe qmail-scanner could do it?

Did some more researching and a great solution came up using qmail scanner. There's an archive setting that allows for archiving some/all domains to a separate directory. You can set the $archiveit variable to a regex expression to match the domains you want to archive.

I used the qmail scanner that's in atomic turtle's repositories for Plesk.

hi codesmith,

We are getting also requests from customers who want to use archiving.
We indeed for this page with some info http://qmail-scanner.sourceforge.net/
but as we only use qmail as is from Plesk we have little knowledge how to do it.

Are you able to give us some info on how you accomplished it for your server.

thanks, Patrick
