  • The BIND DNS server has already been deprecated and removed from Plesk for Windows.
    If a Plesk for Windows server is still using BIND, the upgrade to Plesk Obsidian 18.0.70 will be unavailable until the administrator switches the DNS server to Microsoft DNS. We strongly recommend transitioning to Microsoft DNS within the next 6 weeks, before the Plesk 18.0.70 release.
  • The Horde component is removed from Plesk Installer. We recommend switching to another webmail software supported in Plesk.

Backup not showing up in Plesk

ml95

New Pleskian
Hello everyone,

After a disk crash from our dedicated server, I am trying to restore one of the backups i did before the server crashed. We are using the same version of Plesk (11.5.30) than before the disk replacement.

I've uploaded one of the backups but it doesn't show up in the available backups list in Plesk.

I've checked via ftp that the backup file had been uploaded (in /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains) and all the files are in and unzipped.

I've already tried this with no success : http://kb.odin.com/en/9352

What can i do now to make the backup show up, and restore it ?

TIA !

If KB article didn't help I can only recommend you contact Odin Support Team.

I tried with a command line :

/usr/local/psa/bin/pleskrestore --restore /var/lib/psa/dumps/domains/mydomain/mydump.xml -ignore-sign -level server -verbose

Error was :
<?xml version="1.0"?>

<conflict id="1" guid="ba30af2202f3fe23541509b860459efc">

Any clue on what to do ?

Well, this begins to be way beyond what i can do :(

I've searched for IPv6 issues related to server backups and didn't find anything. If someone has any ideas...

Make sure that you have at least one vacant exclusive IPv6 address on this server.

Thx for helping me :)

Do you know where I can check this ? Is it in Plesk or on my hosting service control panel ?

Ok, in this section I have an IPV4 adress on interface eth0, nothing in IPV6. Do I have to add the IPV6 adress to ?

Yes. Looks like at lease one subscription in backup is assigned to exclusive IPv6 address and can't be restored because you haven't it on your server.

Ok, I added it, retried my command line. After a while, got another error message :

Cannot find parent with guid '8465215a-1cec-47f6-9965-b1a8fe7b0b00' ['Unable to get object properties: Object with guid '8465215a-1cec-47f6-9965-b1a8fe7b0b00' not found
'].

Trying to follow this KB : http://kb.odin.com/en/120912

But I don't know which GUID I should substitute to the one in the backup xml file. Where can I find it ?

(again, thx for your precious help)

Please read KB article carefully. Find it on your server with command

mysql -u admin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` psa -Ne"select guid from clients where id=1"

Ok, i just read a bit too fast. I did the operations listed in the kb and the server was restored successfully. However, there seems to be a problem with the databases or a misconfiguration on something because the sites do not appear as they were before. for example : avec-mife95.fr. I'll check what is wrong with it. But the files are on the server now and this is what I was looking for. :)

Thank you for your help :)
